(First, I'm not sure if this is in the right place--forgive me if it isn't!)
I'm having an issue with my Latitude XT's pen. When I write with it, it'll sometimes keep writing when I lift the pen from the surface of the screen.
Attachment 1135
Where I wrote "writing" in green, I had no trouble. That little scribble to the right, though--whatever is circled in red, I had my pen off the screen and, as you can see, it kept writing. The program I was using is Windows Journal, on Windows 7 (64-bit). It has the same issue in MS Paint.
I had this trouble before, and I simply switched to another pen. But I don't have another other pen to switch to. Do you think that changing the pen nib might help? Or is there a setting I can change on the computer itself?
Has anyone else had an issue like this, and if so, how did you fix it?
Thanks! Attached Images

For Sale: LE1700 View Anywhere, 128GB SSD, Lots of extras May,2012
I am putting the feelers out. I will be having a change to my lifestyle (graduating) and also a change to my computing needs. As such, I thought I would post my beloved LE1700 tablet PC system to see if there is any interest. I say system because it comes with a lot of stuff. I am not really interested in breaking this up right now, so I am looking at selling the whole lot and then the buyer can decide to sell individual pieces if they wish.
Here is the system:
Model: Motion Computing LE1700
Display: SXGA View Anywhere
Processor: Intel Centrino Dual-Core
Memory: 4GB
Storage: 128 GB SSD
OS: Windows 7 Pro 32/64-bit
Additional Components:
- Original box and documentation
- Microsoft Office 2010 (with media)
- Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (With media for 32- or 64-bit install)
- Original 80Gig Hard Drive with Windows XP pre-installed
- OEM LE series Docking station
- OEM DVD R/W Slim Drive with stand
- OEM LE Series Docking keyboard with key protection cover (Not pictured, yet)
- Extra OEM Motion Computing stylus
- One Wacom stylus (not as thick as the Motion Computing stylus)
- Two Main batteries
- Two Extended batteries
- Two battery charging stations (one for home, and one for office)
- Leather Executive Carrying case
- Soft Steel Bump Case
- OEM Weather resistant case by Otterbox
- Extra OEM case mounting plastic for screen protection or mounting in vehicle
- Two Auto/Air adapters
- Four power adapters
- Wireless Keyboard and mouse
- One screen protector (already applied)
This system is great and has served well. It is still in great condition (my opinion) and will serve another person for many years. See the picture below and the several more at the link below. Rather than keep it and look at it on my shelf, I figured I would offer it here to see if there might be any interest. As you can see above, I have a complete accessory and software component (including Windows OS and Office with media included) to go along with this machine. It has been upgraded to include the maximum RAM (4GB) and the 128GB SSD. So it will be ready to go out of the box. I even have the Novatell wireless card (not pictured) that can be installed for using the Sprint Cellular network, but never got around to configuring the card and installing it. I will include it for the buyer to implement if they wish. The batteries are in good condition as well. I have four additional extended batteries which no longer work and the buyer is welcome to those, free of charge, if they are handy and would like to refurbish them.
I am looking to get around $1050 for this package plus shipping. I am willing to ship to USA, Canada, UK, and Australia. I accept PayPal, Money Gram, Check, money order, etc., but all funds must clear prior to shipment. Contact me if interested.
Lots of pictures posted at: http://s609.photobucket.com/albums/t...E1700_ForSale/
Let me know if you would like additional pictures.

Windows 8 Consumer Preview - want correct Nvidia Driver May,2012
Hey everybody,
I was wondering if anyone has had any success installing a correct nvidia driver in the windows 8 consumer preview. Either the 82.12 driver or the stock HP driver from this page -
HP/TC1100/Windows 7 Installation Notes - Mobile PC Wiki
Both Actually Install fine, but when you try to switch to either of them in the device manager, an error says "This driver is not compatible with this version of windows." Does anyone know anything about modifying INFs to fake compatibility?
Thanks
P.S.
If you need help getting to the consumer preview, I think I have the system down pretty well.
1. start with following all the instructions on that link above.
2. Then make sure to do an "On-Machine" upgrade. (download the upgrade exe from Microsoft's website)
3. run windows update, skipping only the audio and wacom drivers.
Also, I would not attempt this unless you have the 1.2 ghz TC1100 and 2gb of ram. I also own a 1ghz TC1100 with 1.5gb of ram and I was never able to get past windows 7. It was BSODing like clockwork.

Counterpoint: Why Win8 on Tablet? May,2012
Hi,
I recently got a Exopc slate off of Ebay, and it came with dual-booted Win8 (32bit) and Win7 (64bit), so since I got it, I've been alternating between the Win8 and Win7 installations, and I guess that, at this point, I don't really see much point to Win8 (vs. Win7)?
I saw the other thread in this forum (http://www.tabletpcbuzz.com/showthre...over-Windows-7), and while Win8 does seem to boot a little faster than Windows 7 does, "from scratch", it doesn't seem to offer much of an improvement overall.
I actually have been rarely booting the tablet (usually just let the tablet sleep), so the boot speed difference probably doesn't mean much to me.
Also, I've seen comments that the TIP is suppose to be better in Win8, but I haven't noticed that either.
Plus, it seems like, when I'm in Win8, even when I start in Metro, I mostly end up back at the Win8 desktop for doing stuff (I use the tablet a lot for viewing Flash videos, which aren't supported in the Metro IE).
It's interesting learning about the various gestures in Metro, but other than that, I'm having a hard time "getting" why I'd want to move to Win8, whenever it does get released.
So, maybe I'm missing something?
Thanks,
Jim

MOTION LE1700 with UVA screen May,2012
I have for sale a very hard to find LE1700 with the hydis ultra view anywhere touch screen. I've since upgraded to the motion F5V and J3500, so this one was going to sit around or I was going to give it to my son. The only major flaw if you can call it that is a scar next to the finger print reader, which does not effect the performance what so ever. This happened when I rushed out of my car to a meeting and pulled it out of my car docking station. That said, it comes with the following.
3 gig of ram
80 gig hardrive
intel 6200 wifi "N" 450 MBPS card with on board hot spot
W7 OS
Office 2010 ult. pro.
all w7 updates
flex docking station
extra extended battery and charger base
motion travel bump case
$600.00 plus shipping
